Slope tourers love the Upper Austrian ski resort of Kasberg as it features a separate ascent trail along the downhill piste! Selected pistes are open for slope touring on designated evenings. So, if you ever wanted to enjoy the moonlight on your tour, Kasberg is THE place to be!

Dates and Facts

Things you should know about Slope Touring Kasberg

  • No extra charge for holders of a day, multi-day or season ticket.
  • Children and teens younger than 15  use ascent trail for free
  • Adult and teen slope tourers need a valid Wintererlebnis ticket or Winteraktiv ticket
  • Slope tourers can choose tickets with or without several lift rides. Tickets without lift rides include ascent up to the valley station of the 12er gondola (B).
  • Kasberg slopes are ideal for slope touring along the pistes. 


Wintererlebnis ticket, Winteraktiv night ticket as well as the season ticket include the use of all infrastructural facilities of Kasberg ski resort, such as ascent trail to GUB valley station, parking and toilet. 

Slope tours at KASBERG

Up the Mountain!

Have you caught the slope touring fever and want to explore Kasberg on touring skis? Great!

Start your tour at the parking of the valley station. There are three ways uphill:

Tour 1: Sepp-Huber-Hut

  • Length: 6.7 km
  • Vertical height: 900 m
  • Duration: 2–2.5 h
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Route: along waymarked hiking trail to Hochberghaus, via Farrenau to GUB valley station, take GUB uphill or ascend to Sepp-Huber Hut via Sommerweg/Benn Nock (ascent via family downhill forbidden in this section).

Tour 2: Ochsenbodenlift top station

  • Length: 7.2 km
  • Vertical height: 1,000 m
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Route: like Route 1, from Sepp-Huber-Hut to  Ochsenbodenlift top station for about half a kilometre


Tour 3: Kasberggipfel

  • Length: 8.5 km
  • Vertical height: 1,150 m
  • Difficulty: easy; steep terrain for slope crossing
  • Route: like Route 1+2. From Ochsenbodenlift top station to Kasberggipfel along a ridge.

Good to know:
Sundays through Thursdays (until 22:00) ascent to Hochberghaus allowed. Thursdays and under a full moon up to Sepp-Huber-Hut.

Winterliches Fair Play in der Natur

Für ein nachhaltiges Miteinander beim Outdoor-Sport während der Wintermonate

 

  1. Zeige Respekt für die Natur und vermeide Lärm.
     
  2. Starte mit einer sorgfältigen Tourenplanung:
    Wetter- und Lawinenlageberichte ansehen und entsprechend handeln.
    Informiere dich dazu auf den Webseiten der alpinen Vereine bezüglich der Gefahren im (alpinen) Gelände.
    Erkundige dich im Vorfeld zu den Parkmöglichkeiten vor Ort.

     
  3. Standardausrüstung bei Ski- und Schneeschuhtouren im alpinen Gelände:
    LVS-Gerät, Schaufel, Sonde und Mobiltelefon. 

     
  4. Bleibe auf den in offiziellen Kartendarstellungen ausgewiesen Winter- und
    Skitouren-Routen. Beachte: das Betreten und Befahren von Jungwaldflächen bis
    3m Höhe ist verboten.

     
  5. Nimm besondere Rücksicht auf Wildtiere und meide ihre Futterstellen. Keine Störung bei Dämmerung oder in der Nacht. Hunde sind nicht erlaubt auf unseren Pisten!
     
  6. Bringe deine Abfälle im Rucksack nach Hause retour
     
  7. Nimm Rücksicht auf andere Freizeitsportler*innen.
